A house surrounded by greenery – Arabella Rocca

Arabella Rocca signs the renovation of a home that enhances the relationship between architecture and nature by choosing La Pietra Compattata.

A few kilometers from Rome, inside the Castel Lombardo estate, Arabella Rocca signs the renovation project for a farmhouse that expresses the newfound desire to make the different functions of living interact and integrate into the landscape.

Casale Barberini, the first of the completely renovated parts of the estate, wants to enhance the naturalistic vocation of the place by establishing an even more visceral relationship with the animals that live nearby and with the dedicated vegetable garden. Arabella Rocca, specialized in the search for innovative and ecological materials and construction solutions, has enhanced the relationship between architecture and nature through a design narrative that has reformulated the conception of environments in the name of chromatism and the careful design of every detail. A concept of osmosis between in & out that has transformed the restyling into a search for hybridization with nature.

The fluidity with the outside is also emphasized by the refined choice of the material used for the flooring: La Pietra Compattata was chosen for its green soul.

A tailoring project (Progetto Sartoriale Collection) created for Arabella Rocca, where the pleasure of the PIETRE collection made her choose the Ardesia Brown and Basaltina colors. The tailoring of this project lies in the sestino format, that is 6.2×25 cm: the ideal size for the pattern sought by the designer where the herringbone laying is a tribute to the terracotta floors that characterize the rest of the estate. The shades of slate and rust remain the same both inside and outside, changing only in the surface: Natural inside and Flamed outside, harmonizing with timeless elegance inside and outside, in perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

In addition, a green palette animates the different areas of the farmhouse: it is the outside that continues inside as well. The distribution paths, including the stairwell, are all declined in shades of green, the dominant color that invades the project, contaminating the rooms like a climber.

Green in the colors, green in the material, green surrounded by nature: Casale Barberini, a unique project of which we are honored to be part of it.

A heartfelt thanks to Arabella Rocca for choosing La Pietra Compattata and to Elle Decor Italia for this project we feel part of 💚
