RIGA, “line” in Italian, represents one of the fundaments signs of design. It’s acronym, Research and Inspiration from Graphic and Architecture, stands at the core of re-interpreting the architectural use of concrete. The collection takes inspiration by skilled craftsmen who manually made carved concrete walls looking for the beauty of repetitive patterns full of human imperfections and it is manufactured using the laser micro-carving technology to carefully engrave these man-made patterns on a large size ceramic surface.
Four are the different interpretations of this design concept, with lines (Rigato), stripes (Striato), square (Quadri) and flatness (Planum), to be used alone or together to create visually rich patterns and convey a natural, vibrant full-empty sculptural effect, through the interplay of texture and light.
